Trip Report 14-11-2014

Yesterday I went with Bernard from Isle of Capri to take some ashes to be left in the Agulhas current in a "message in a bottle style" and left the canister some 35Km out to sea on behalf of a broken hearted mother, very sad. We also took the opportunity to see how are the water conditions on the continental shelf. No fish !!!! Water was crystal clear but still remains under 21deg. C the thermocline sits some 30m under, the trip out was pleasant, but on the way back we had a 22 knot SW come up against a NE swell which made of an interesting trip back. We saw 1 Tuna and 3 whales, very little bird life but did find some floatsome lines and blue bottles. We also saw some yellow butterflies out there in the deep.
